Integrated 8 Bank Shear and Oven

The ChemInstruments S-HT-8 High Temperature 8 Bank Shear Tester is designed to perform high temperature shear tests. PSTC-7 Procedure C, TLMI Test No. 7, FINAT test No. 8, and ASTM D 3654 procedure C for Holding Power of pressure Sensitive Tapes are able to be performed on S-HT-8. The standard model has switches that can withstand temperatures up to 400° F (204° C). Additionally, the S-HT-8 High Temperature 8 Bank Shear Tester can perform shear test in humidity chambers or freezers. The S-HT-8 has several features that make it easy to use as well as reliable:

Mechanical switches can be calibrated to trip when using weights from 100 to 1000 grams.
Adjustable feet allow the user to level the testing plane.
Uses standard 2" x 3" (5cm x 7.5cm) stainless steel test panels as specified in PSTC test methods.
Removable panel racks help to avoid wide temperature swings.
Adjustable angle panel rack allows user to quickly switch test angle from 178° to 90°.
Clock box built into the face of the oven.

The ChemInstruments S-O-8 Shear Test Oven is a forced-ventilation oven with a ramping controller for performing heat-fail temperature shear testing of hot melt and pressure sensitive adhesives. it complies with the SAFT test method ASTM D4498. The variability of SAFT tests depend on the mass in the oven, specific heat factors, wattage of the heating system, fan speed, and program & operator technique. The S-OSI-8 is the result of ChemInstruments development of a standard rack, controller and oven combination, which greatly aids in producing uniform results between laboratories using this system.
